The tall, top hatted man on the far right of the group is Albert Edward Langley, engineer to the M&GN. He was married to Minnie Webber, who is standing on his right and was the sister of Stanley Webber of Briston.

The wedding took place on the 28th February, 1912 at Great Witchingham. The wedding party took place at the house of the groom Albert, who was on leave from Chatham, as he was a sailor, otherwise the bride would have married from her own home parish of Melton Constable.  This group shot is of the wedding party i.e. bridesmaid .., and brothers.
Florence’s father (who was also Lawrence and Ernest Massinghams' father) had been dead for many years.
His widow Mary Massingham is in the back row. 
Lawrence and Ernest were boilermakers at the Works and lived in Astley_Terrace before moving into Melton_Street for Ernest and for Lawrence also in Astley Terrace then in to Briston Road (southside).

This is the marriage of Albert Morgan and Audrey Ruth Sylverton Massingham. 
It was taken 26th December 1925 and they were married at Burgh Parva.
By the look of the photo, it was a wet day !!! And cold !! 
It’s in Astley_Terrace outside the house where Lawrence and his wife lived with their daughter Audrey and son Douglas. The Morgan’s at this time were in no 22 Melton Street.
My mum Gwendoline ‘Gwen’ Morgan married my dad Ralph Kimber also on 26th December 1946 so Boxing Day was a thing !! Which makes sense … it was a day off everyone could attend …. And there was plenty of food and drink for all ! Plus the houses would have been decorated for Xmas, so all good for a wedding too!!!

Mabel Elizabeth Massingham was the daughter of Ernest Edmund Massingham. They moved from Astley_Terrace into Melton_Street. Very sure that the photos for this occasion were taken in the gardens, which were next to the bowling green. I believe from memory that there are photos of the gardens already on the website but this gives a better understanding just how lovely they were and how they were used !!!

Bertie Rowe was married to Amelia Rowe, Albert Adams was married to Margaret Adams; William Adams was married to Amelia Adams, parents of bridesmaid Harriet.

The weddding had taken place at Burgh Parva. Sam Adams was a fireman and went on to be an engine driver.
Sam and Molly lived at 6, Melton Street. Molly died in 1974 and Sam died in 1977.

I know they saved their rations up for the evening even though it was Boxing Day. Dad went to Norwich to get the ring and gifts for the bridesmaid. Because there were so many Morgan’s they all chipped in and there was a fruit cake for them to cut - a small one, as they knew how to make it stretch in those days ….
